To: TTT members and friends
From: TTT President
This is a very difficult letter for me to write. For over 35 years as an ardent Tree Topper supporter I’ve been asking people to come visit our beautiful valley. We Tree Topper locals have always valued and appreciated being able to share this gem that we have, but today is a different day.
Out of respect and concern for our local community and respect and concern for our first responders and healthcare workers, I ask our valued members to please stay away. I can’t believe I am saying this but now is not the time to visit. Our restaurants are closing, our grocery store shelves are not well stocked, our state parks and other camping facilities are closed for camping and restricting public gatherings. The CDC does not recommend traveling at this time. Out of concern for his personnel and their ability to do their job, our 911 director has suggested that we curtail our flying activities.
The Tree Topper family is renewed each spring with the annual return of members and friends. Our members are from all over the country, even the world, and we always look forward to renewing our relationship with old friends and creating new friendships. Our members are our lifeblood and without your loyalty and dedication we would not exist. This pandemic is going to cause difficulties for everyone in many ways; we will all be making sacrifices. Most of us will suffer some social and or economic loss. The Tree Toppers will be no different, we will lose members and friends and we will lose income. In this difficult time, please find ways to give to and help others and if you have anything left, remember that we could use your help also. Renew your membership, send a donation if you can. Most importantly take care of your own and your community. With your support we will go on and the Tree Toppers will be here after this is over to share our beautiful valley, our flying community and our good times.
I will be giving you updates as this crisis progresses. It’s just beginning to reach our valley and we don’t know where it will lead or when it will pass.
I’ll see you on the other side and I can’t wait to personally greet each and every one of you and welcome you to the Tennessee Tree Toppers once again. Thank you for being part of our family.
